I'm having trouble with a lot of pop-ups, a background and 3 shortcuts being placed on my desktop, and a toolbar that came out of nowhere.

The pop-ups don't happen that often, but when they do they come in large groups.

The background is red and has a bio-hazard symbol and says that my computer is at risk. The three icons on my desktop come back no matter how many times I delete them. (I ran SpyBot and got the SmitFraud.c problem returned, and heard that these two things are some of the symptoms of that)

The toolbar is in Internet Explorer and is called the bbrsep toolbar. It doesn't show up when I run SpyBot, but I've read about many problems with it.

Are these two separate problems, or is one stemming from the other?

Hi mcdizzle88

Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri), saving to your desktop.
Extract the contents of SmitFraudFix.exe to your desktop.

Open the SmitFraudFix folder on your desktop and double-click SmitfraudFix.cmd.
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Thanks,
