[Closed]Task/Bar and Desktop Locking on Me

I have used CleanUP, SpyBot and Adaware to clean my computer before posting this log.

Lately, whenever I go online I would be getting these popups. Also, my taskbar and desktop would disappear all of a sudden. What I mean is that my taskbar would disappear along with all my icons on the desktop.

However, the windows I have up can still be used as I can still go online etc. Unfortunately, I am not able to access anything else because I have no taskbar and no icons on my desktop. Once I close these windows I am left with just a blank desktop, and I usually press CTRL + ALT+ DEL to log off and log back on.

Sorry if I described this poorly. Here is my log

Welcome to What the Tech.

You don't seem to be running a firewall. If you're not running any firewall or are not sure please follow these instructions to turn Windows Firewall on.

Click on the Windows Start button in the left hand corner of your screen.
Go to Control Panel or settings Control Panel
Double click on Windows Firewall
The two main options are On and Off.
Check to see if there's a checkmark next to On and if not please select it.

Please now let me know if you are using Windows Firewall or another one.

You are using an older version of HijackThis. Please do the following to download and install the latest version of HijackThis v2.0.2:

CLICK HERE to download the HijackThis Installer:
  • Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
  • Double-click on HJTInstall.exe to run the program.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis.
  • Accept the license agreement by clicking the "I Accept" button.
  • Now please close the program.

Please delete the older version once you have successfully downloaded and installed the latest version of HijackThis v2.0.2.

Please download ComboFix by sUBs from HERE or HERE

You must download it to your Desktop

Go to [external image: Posted Image] -> Run -> paste in the following single line command & click OK

"%userprofile%\desktop\combofix.exe" /killall

[external image: Posted Image]

ComboFix will automatically start, any monitoring programs will be shut down like your antivirus, antispyware programs for example.

ComboFix may restart your computer, this is normal.

When finished, it will produce a log. Please save its log to post in your next reply .

Note:
Do not mouse-click Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

CF disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run. If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.

If ComboFix did not reboot your computer please do so now.

Please post a new HijackThis(HJT) log.

Thanks for the help. I actually forgot to add that I was also getting the "buffer overrun" error message while my desktop/taskbar would reset. Sorry about that.

I am using a firewall and it is the windows firewall. I went in to check if it was turned on or not, and it was indeed turned on.
Should I be worried about anything else or make any other changes? Thanks

Here are my two logs

Optional
I see you have Viewpoint Media Player installed on your PC

Viewpoint Media Player is considered as foistware instead of malware since it is often installed without user's approval but doesn't spy or do anything "bad". This may change, read Viewpoint to Plunge Into Adware.
I recommend that you remove the Viewpoint products; however, decide for yourself.
If you want to remove it please also uninstall
Viewpoint Media Player

Now please install Spybot Search & Destroy.

Please save the code below to Notepad and save it as CFScript.txt to your Desktop.
Folder::
C:\Program Files\PokerStars
C:\Program Files\Full Tilt Poker
C:\Program Files\PartyGaming

Driver::
PCMService
Now please drag CFScript.txt on the ComboFix icon on your Desktop as shown below.
[external image: Posted Image]

ComboFix will automatically start up and run, please save it's log when finished.

If ComboFix does not reboot your system, please do so now.

Open up HijackThis, do a System Scan and select the following entries(if present)
O9 - Extra button: PacificPoker4 - {94EDF7B4-4272-4af3-8F8B-4E2F68E225B7} - C:\PROGRA~1\PACIFI~1\pacificpoker.exe

(Note.. for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble with the "Accept" button of the license, click on the "Zoom" tool located at the bottom right of the IE window and set the zoom to 75 %. Once the license has been accepted, reset to 100%.)
The program launches and downloads the latest definition files.
  • Once the files are downloaded click on Next
  • Click on Scan Settings and configure as follows:
    • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
