A Duplicate name exsists on the network

Ok I've been getting this message on my PC when I start it up ( for the past few months) A duplicate name exsists on the network. Not all the time but sometimes…. a few times a day, sometimes once a week… there's no rhyme or reason to it. I've virus scanned and adware scanned and it seems like everything in between but it never shows that there's an issue but this seems very fishy to me. My PC seems to run slow and sometimed my PC will say my firewall isn't turned on and when I check it says it is. Any help would be greatly appeciated.

i would suspect that two of your networked computers has the same "name", causing the message. shelf life

Shelf Life, Thanks for the reply but I don't think thats it. There are 2 other PC's on my network and neither of them has the same name as mine. Any other suggestions? Kaz
