Hey! Haven't been here for a while and it's good to be back and rolling! So hi again!

Now I am having trouble with my PC, but it is not big trouble, it is just something that is doing my head in :rant2: lol, OK I have a screenshot here now:

[external image: Posted Image]

The programme is called Guitar Pro 5 and I bought it, but the images that represent the Files for Guitar Pro 5 are different, and some are the same, Is there any way to fix this?

Also, The other problem I have is only small, You see we have a couple of PCs in the house and whenever a different PC (apart from mine) comes online it says on my PC "System Error, A duplicate name exists on the network" Is there any way to fix this?
for the conflict between the Networked machines. Turn the both on. then execute ipconfig /release on both Then execute ipconfig /renew on both If that doesn't do the trick, then grab the router owner manual for information about Setting up the Network. Don't have the manual? Most Router manufacturers have the owner manual posted at their website. Best Regards
You may be able to change the file icon/thumbnail or whatever it is, but it was created that way, deliberately by the program for you to be able to differentiate between file-formats created by the program itself, and other general file formats of imported media. At least that is my best guess. I wouldn't know how to change them, but you might be able to if you study through the various options, including the help files. Best Regards
Oh, OK, but this happened to me with my music before, some where windows media player files and some where iTunes, but they all opened in Windows Media player.
Hi, Try this: 1 Open "My Music" or whatever 2 Click on Tools 3 Click on Folder Options 4 Click on File Types (highlight file typr to be altered) 5 Click on Advanced 6 Click on Change Icon 7 Select any Icon you fancy 8 Click on OK 9 Repeat as required for other file types Your System Icons are normally stored here: C:\WINDOWS\system32\shell32.dll However your Guitar programme may have included its own name in the path, so use the browse control at step 7 above if you wish. Nope it still didn't change, I tried that before but it didn't work, Only one of the Icons are in the file types, the other one is not there.
Hi, You can change to any Icon you want, just put it in the folder referred to in my previous post or use the browse control to find the one you want, even make your own if you like! (You can use "Paint" for this. Regards Paws
Hi, By default Windows will hide this file from view. To be able to see it you will first need to: 1 Click on My Computer 2 Click on Tools 3 Click on Folder Options 4 Click on View 5 Scroll down and tick (checkmark) Display contents of System folders 6 Select Show hidden files and folders 7 Clear tick from Hide Extensions for known file types 8 Clear Hide protected operating system files 9 Click on OK You will now be able to navigate to the folder and the file will be visible. Please be sure to reverse the process when you have done. The files are hidden as Windows does not want folks messing with files that could badly damage their system. If you are still not sure how best to do this then perhaps it would be best for you to live with the Icons that you have. I would not want you to mess up your system, so make sure you have a good back up , a disc image and a Sytem Restore point, before you do anything. Regards paws

I couldn't find it, I done everything you said, Ah it dosen't matter, I'll just keep it the way it is.

P.S: If you could, could you please help me out with my other topic:

Cheers!

Hi Gary
Ok I understand.
Sorry but I can't give you any help on the speed issues with peer to peer file sharing.

I have always avoided this, like the plague, particularly with Limewire, as too many "little friends" try to invite themselves aboard along with the files you want and this tends to slow down, your machine, corrupt files, and make the operating system unstable at best, and prone to mystery crashes and odd behaviour at worst. I understand the recent editions of Limewire are better in this respect than the older ones, which were notorious for this. I warn all my customers about the dangers of these file sharing applications but they still use them, which in a way keeps me in business repairing their systems!!
Perhaps some one who has managed to use P2P and been able to avoid all these problems will be able to respond.
Regards
