Absolutely right - well done! :) This forum doesn't let me include a blank line at the end of the Code box.

It's looking good - how's the computer running now? We've just got a bit of tidying up to do. Let's clear out the programmes we've been using to clean up your computer, they are not suitable for general malware removal and could cause damage if used inappropriately.
  • Double click OTMoveIt.exe to launch the programme.
  • Click on the CleanUp! button.
  • OTMoveIt will download a list from the Internet, if your firewall or other defensive programmes alerts you, allow it access.
  • You will be prompted to the allow clean up procedure, click Yes
  • When finished exit out of OTMoveIt
  • Now delete OTMoveIt.exe
Delete fix.reg from your desktop and, if OTMoveIt hasn't removed it, please delete Deckard's Scanner (dss.exe).

—————————————————–

If you do not already use it, I suggest that you install SpywareBlaster. This program will:
  • Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted software.
  • Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
  • Restrict the actions of potentially unwanted sites in Internet Explorer.
This program blocks these items but does not run in the background. It therefore does not use any resources.

I would also recommend that you have a look at Firetrust SiteHound. This gives warnings when you are about to enter a website that is on their 'block' list. An alternative is McAfee SiteAdvisor. I use SiteHound, but both have a good reputation (N.B. use only one of them, not both).

This article, How to prevent Malware by miekiemoes gives some very good advice.

Please let me know whether you have any questions.
Sorry, one more thing we need to do:

Flush System Restore

We need to 'flush' your System Restore points and create a new clean one.

Turn OFF System Restore.
  • Click on Start
  • Right-click My Computer
  • Click Properties
  • Click the System Restore tab
  • Check Turn off System Restore
  • Click Apply, and then click OK
Restart your computer

Turn ON System Restore.
  • Click on Start
  • Right-click My Computer
  • Click Properties
  • Click the System Restore tab
  • Uncheck Turn off System Restore
  • Click Apply, and then click OK
 Hi thanks for all your help. :) when i ran the otimer there was a file in documents and settings that could'nt be deleted(i just caught a glimpse of it)is this okay?I have done the system restore thing you said but i don't know how to create a new system restore point .One last thing I was at pcaudit earlier and my internal ip address is also showing which should'nt be according to there test and i do not know how to use a proxy is there anyway i can change my browser settings so that this does'nt get shown?
Hi Ally. :)

when i ran the otimer there was a file in documents and settings that could'nt be deleted(i just caught a glimpse of it)is this okay?

I expect that this was something on your desktop. Is there anything still there that we downloaded (e.g. dss.exe)? This isn't a problem. The clean up is just to tidy up and make sure that the tools and files are removed.

i don't know how to create a new system restore point

If you followed my instructions then you will have created a new restore point. To check this:
  • Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore
  • Click the Next button
  • Click the left arrow by the calendar to change it to September
  • Yesterday's date should be in bold
  • Click on the date and you should see that a restore point was created
  • If not, click the Back button and select Create a restore point
  • Add a description (e.g. "Post cleanup") and click the Create button
  • Click Close

I was at pcaudit earlier and my internal ip address is also showing

What do you mean by "internal ip address"? Click on this link. Is this the ip address you are referring to? If not, please post the one that pcaudit said is showing.
Good Morning! :D Baynac,Everything is running great  ,checked system restore, everything ok.The ip address that auditmypc is showing is 192.168.1.65,it says this is my internal ip and should not be allowed to be seen by websites and only my external ip address which was the one you said should be showingto sites. This is the site i used to test my firewall and surfing security http://www.auditmypc.com/ other than this am i good to go ;)
Hi.

I just tried a scan at Audit My PC on my computer and got exactly the same thing. I know that my security is good and I have tested it at ShieldsUp which is known to be reliable. I don't think that you should worry about this. You are therefore good to go! :D
 Thanks again for all your help baynac I really appreciate it,I'll try and be more careful of what i download in future!!sending you good karma :D
