I have tried everything I can find in Windows help and tech releases and whatever I could find by doing a web search. But, I can't get the quick Launch to execute at start up. I can right click on the status bar, select toolbars and then activate it, but not during the boot up. I used to have it, then I had a virus and one of your great folks helped me get rid of that, but in the process I lost the Quick Launch. In the grand scheme of things, it is not a huge deal. But, it is a a nuisance and an efficiency thing. Any advice? Thanks in advance.
Hi vmanbb,

Yes that would be a nuisance!
I use my QuickLaunch shortcuts all the time.
___________

You've apparently already done the following:
Right-Click on the Toolbar - Select Toolbars - Select QuickLaunch
___________

But then it "disappears from your Desktop after Re-booting?
___________

Are you getting the "Cannot create toolbar" Error Message ?
Have you "searched" on your own machine to assure that the QuickLaunch folder still exists?
_________

You mention that you've searched all over the place for a solution.

I like this particular resource because it lists "extensive" possibilities and fixes:

Here's a paragraph from fairly far down on that page that addresses your specific problem description:
*** But you should first make sure that the earlier items have been taken care of.
*** At this point it IS NOT recommended that you perform a Registry restore to prior status, as you have just done a lot of work to get things cleaned up. Probably, you've cleared your Restore Points and now have a good Restore Point to reference, but it already doesn't have Quick Launch. So don't go there just yet.

A Quick Launch toolbar disappearing after every reboot is a fault which has been known to occasionally affect XP machines. To fix it, click Start > Control Panel > Appearance and Themes > Taskbar & Start Menu > untick the box at 'Show Quick Launch' (or tick it if it was already unticked) > Apply > OK > close Control Panel. Restart the PC for the changed settings to take effect. After the computer has rebooted, repeat the foregoing steps but this time ensure the box by Quick Launch is ticked. Restart the computer again and, when it reboots, you should find the Quick Launch toolbar is present and correct on the Taskbar. If it isn't, right-click on the Taskbar > Toolbars > if there is no tick by Quick Launch, click on it
