As Paws mentioned in your previous thread……..
The most reliable method of dealing with an MS Office Application program malfunction is to completely uninstall it, run Disk Cleanup. Defrag, then Reinstall the desired MS Office Application.
Run Disk Cleanup and Defrag after the fresh installation as well.
Best Regards
To uninstall MS Office Components, use the Control Panel - Add/Remove function.
Reinstalling would then need to be from the Installation CD that you originally used, or if it was preloaded as a Trial Version and then subscribed, you would have downloaded the installation folder.
cant find relevent program(microsoft works) in add or remove program/contol panel. i have disc to re-install. sorry such a ludite at these things, many thanks mark

The English Textile Workers would be outraged!!!
They felt threatened in their very existence by the looming incursion of mechanical/industrial developments.
Such folks would hardly stand for your casual misspelling of their movement's name and reference to their revered but mythical leader, Ned Ludd.
Why do I care? Just making conversation and trying to be friendly.
And of course, there is the fact that I have named my main machine computer "Luddite" after their movement.
Welcome to the Movement. I feel like "such a Luddite" often times, too.
______
Onward and upward….
Their absence in Control Panel - Add Remove is very likely associated with the other problems you describe having with MS applications.
Good that you have the MS Works installation CD.
Use it to install the very same applications that you believe to have been previously installed.
Allow the onscreen installation wizard to install the applications into/over-the-top of the same files where they have previously existed.
Next: go to Control Panel - Add/Remove and perform a complete Uninstall of all MS Works applications.
Next: you should now be able to Re-install whichever of your MS Works applications that you desire.
thanks doug, its been a long time since i studied the industrial revolution in school… but im sure old ned would never forgive this english man anyway as i come from a town which rose through the i. r. producing coal and glass.
did what you said and installed then un-install ms works. should i now do as you said above and disc clean..
could you talk me through disc clean.
thanks mark.
Running Disk Cleanup and Defrag after a fresh installation is always recommended.
Installer apps. are notorious for leaving "junk files" laying around, and the actual installed application may also be spread around some.
