Need Help With Hijak This Log

Lately when browsing the internet I get the error message cannot find server. It happens randomly and not to any specific sites. I have run my Mcfee antivirus software and spybot as well. Here is my Hijack this Log. Thanks

Hello and welcome to the forums

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Download - ATF Cleaner»

Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.


(If you use FireFox or the Opera browser
To keep saved passwords, click No at the prompt.)

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time.

Next:

Please go HERE and do a online scan.


Accept the License Agreement.
Once the ActiveX installs,Click Full System Scan
Once the download completes,the scan will begin automatically.
The scan will take some time to finish,so please be patient.
When the scan completes, click the Automatic cleaning (recommended) button.

Click the Show Report button and Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.


Also let me know how the computer is running now.

Hi, My problem has actually been fixed. I read through a bunch of threads here and ran some of the cleaners. I have also downloaded and installed McAfee and it seems to have helped a bunch. So for now I am up and running good. Thanks for your response though. Matt

Log looks good to me.

Be sure to do this update and you're looking good.

You need to update SunJava.
Updating Java:
Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6.
  • Scroll down to where it says Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6u1
    The Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications.
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.
  • Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
  • Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
  • Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name. It should have the [external image: Posted Image] icon next to it.
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
  • Then from your desktop double-click on 6-windowsi586-p.exe to install the newest version.
Once installed you can test to see that it is in fact installed
