I have been having a problem for a bit now with my IE7 crashing - actually it's that darned message that says a problem was found and it will have to close. Firefox 2.0 doesn't really have the same problem but it does seem to be using a ton of memory and often stalls. I'm running quite a few processes but not a huge amount. First I went to the Process Library website at http://www.processli...ory?files=csrss and looked up a few processes that were running. I compared them to those at http://www.sysinfo.o...?filter=wuauclt and found a lot of different information. Found a link that was recommended for the program to give more detailed information. Downloaded it and it works, but can't really get much information out of it. Maybe someone here can help with that? It's called Security Task Manager.

My question here is - if names overlap and can be only determined by the file location whether it's a virus, trojan, or whatever, what's the best way (or program) to use to figure out if the process running should be kept running or not?

I also downloaded the trial version of Uniblue's Registry Booster to fix any registry errors. It found about 286, but only fixed 9. Any suggestions on a trial or freeware that will actually fix all the errors (and won't screw up my system in the process?)

I still don't know what's causing my IE to crash, and my firefox to overrun on memory. Or why I can't even run the Uniblue process scanner from the net! Like I said I have several processes running now, but I don't know what to kill. Is there a list somewhere of the perfect streamlined taskmanager? With what should and should not be running for an optimized system? Or a program that will determine that for you? Please help.

Also I am downloading right now a program called TuneUp from Software International. Is it any good? Recommended? Thanks
