Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1 Scan saved at 9:20:03 AM, on 6/14/2007 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180) My registry appears to have a problem. I am unable to install any Microsoft updates, cannot install Qtime or Itunes, and cannot install IE7. To be honest I probably did something using HijackThis without consulting someone intelligent first. Any help would be appreciated.

Dough, when attempting to run CheckDisk as instructed I received the following: "The type of the file system is NFTS. Cannot lock current drive. Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts? " I answered no and the system closed. ????
That message always occurs. It is necessary to answer "Yes". to allow CHKDSK to schedule to Run next time you Reboot, so that it can Run in the Pre-Windows environment, prior to Windows loading. Then Reboot your machine to allow the CHKDSK to run its 5 scans. When it finishes scanning, it will boot normally into Windows. Best Regards
