Please could someone set me straight on the following report from Secunia.

What is the difference between:
Macromedia Flash Player 6.x [removed] and
Adobe Flash Player 9.x [removed]

When I follow the instructions below to update I am directed to the Adobe Flash Player already installed.

The only installation showing in Add and Remove is Adobe Flash Player 9 Active x

I have used the following uninstall tool
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase…cfm?id=tn_14157 twice, following all instructions, shut down and restarted the computer, but still when I do a further Secunia scan it shows Macromedia Flash Player 6.x 6.0.79.0 as well as the latest version
Adobe Flash Player 9.x 9.0.28.0

Thank you

Thanks for your post -

The problem has been solved and the answer was to go to:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Macromed

look at what was in the Flash Player folder and there was the cultprit…..the middle one "Flash.ocx"

Flash.9b.ocx 2.15MG
Flash.ocx 813KB
Adobe Flash Player 9.0.r28 File version 9.0.28.0 185KB

I right clicked properties finding:

Moderfied:
Wednesday, 4 August 2004, 10:00:00 PM
Version 6.0.79.0
Description:Macromedia Flash Player 6.0 r79

I then deleted it, did another Secunia scan - The scan was clean.
