I use to have a lot of videos on my computer and so i deleted all of them and so my computer is basically empty but now my computer runs sooo slow still! i feel like those files are still on my computer. I did almost everything. downloaded ATF cleaner. CCleaner. cleaned everything.. disk fragmented my computer.. downloaded AVG anti spyware and followed instructions from another post.. but my comptuer still runs slow. i no longer have that virtual memory pop up bc i followed instructions increasing the MBs for that.. and my computer shows that i have 65.7 GB free space and a total size of 74.4 GB, so it showed i have tons of extra free space but my performance is still slow! well i guess i will paste the info from the AVG anti-spyware's analyzes.. Can someone help. I feel like the memory of those videos i deleted are someone still stored on my computer but i feel like i did every way to delete them…. ——————————————————— AVG Anti-Spyware - Scan Report Looks like AVG AntiSpyware was able to clean everything it identified.

We'll do a few other scans if necessary, but later.

In the meantime, let's have a better look at your machine, by running the PCPitstop Full Tests.
http://www.pcpitstop.com

In the left column, click on Full Tests
Register with a valid email address and create your own password.
To run the Full Tests, you will be asked to accept an ActiveX. It's safe, as is registering also.

When you complete the Full Tests and view the Results pages, you will see the option for TechExpress
Click on TechExpress and copy/paste the full URL information back here into this thread.
With that additional information we should be able to give you better informed recommendations.

You also mention:

followed instructions from another post..

Please describe the steps you took, or post a link to those instructions.

With a little more information, we should be able to help you start regaining your machine.

Best Regards
Hi Ken117, Your Pit Test results gives you a good starting point for additional steps you can take to rehabilitate this machine. All of the "Tune-up Tips" should be followed. Then post a fresh PCPitstop Full Test TechExpress after you've completed those steps. _________________ About your HD: It is "under-performing". Very likely the HD controller driver has dropped the DMA setting: "DMA if Available" GoTo: Right-Click on My Computer - Select Properties - Select Hardware - Click on Device Manager In Device Manager, Click on IDE/ATA/ATA Controllers Right - Click on Primary IDE Channel - Select Properties On the Advanced(tab) panel Select for "Transfer Mode: DMA if available" If your IDE controller keeps kicking off "DMA if available" it could be signalling an iminent HD failure, or it could be that the IDE Controller has been "corrupted" and needs to be Removed/Reinstalled. _________ Your Low Video Performance if very likely related to need for a Driver Update/reinstallation of Video Driver. However, Video Performance may also improve after Repairing the IDE Controller and additional Defragging of your Hard Drive. (I know, Video Performance hardly related to Hard Drive, but overall system resources may be being sucked into IDE performance, thus compromising Video Performance) _____ Adding more RAM would be HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. You are likely to see across the board improvements with additional RAM, including both Video and Hard Drive performance. _________ Please go ahead and make the adjustments recommended for Internet Configuration. You already have good broadband performance, but the recommendations "will" make a difference, including better download/upload, fewer browsing errors. Reducing your IE Cache Size will relieve your machine of dragging around so much historic bloat from past browsing sessions, which are highly not-needed, and possibly dragging tracking cookies that further degrade you internet performance. _____________ In the Windows Details panel, you will see that a large number of unnecessary processes are starting from StartUp folder at boot time. All the items in Purple background are good candidates for disabling via MSCONFIG. Your choice prevails. But as a result of all those applications and processes running, you have a 7% CPU load, just when your machine is supposedly "resting". Not good. Of course, Adding more RAM will also improved Windows functioning. In addition to the Purple Background items, consider disabling: Zone Alarm Client: zlclient.exe (leave vsmon.exe running active, since that is your actual Firewall) Spyware Doctor - You can use Spyware Doctor as a "manual scan" instead of having it run in the background. Later when you get more RAM, you may want to re-activate Spyware Doctor in the background as it is a very excellent utility (even though it is a resource hog. If you can't afford more RAM, you might consider Uninstalling Norton and installing the lighter weight AVG AntiVirus, which loads fewer processes to accomplish the same protection. I would Completely Uninstall: ViewpointService Viewpoint Corporation C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Common\ViewpointService.exe Viewpoint Manager Viewpoint Corporation C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe These were installed without your consent, and you probably have never used them. They are generally known as "bloatware" but can also produce vectors for malware entry. You "may" want to Run your own HJT and Post a Log over in our Malware Removal Forum just to be sure you are Malware Free. I don't see any "indications" of malware, but the Pit Test doesn't specifically test for all varieties of Malware. Keep us posted on your progress, Best Regards
