computer memory problem

hey, i was wondering if anyone can help me. apparently i have low disk space on my c: drive my comp has 80gig worth of memory and there is no way i have used it all but it says my hard drive has 12kb left available. here's a quick overlook; i have performed virus scans, spyware scans, cleaned out my cache and defragged my comp. i have about 4 games on my pc, highest having 6 gig the rest not even close to half that amount. i have the various security, AV firewall ad-aware cws etc and other things like nero msn messenger limewire winamp and drivers for webcam printer etc. i have deleted all my music and about 18MB worth of photos from digicam there isn't much more than that on my comp. so i don't think i have 80GB worth of software and this is wot leads me to believe i have a problem i think it has to do with the file system (which i know nothing about ) i formatted not too long ago and my file system was NTFS. my friend then used a converting program to change it to FAT32 (he said it formatted quicker or easier or something like that, i prob shud have listened more). once formatted he never changed the file system back to NTFS, i think this mite be the problem but then wot do i know! does anyone have any ideas why my comp says i have run out 80 gig? can some one explain simply the difference of NTFS and FAT32 so i know? sorry about the long post, thanks guys

Fat32 is a compressed file system as were NTSF is not. When you go into "My Computer" how many drives does it say you have? Also place the mouse pointer over the "C:\" and leave it there for a second not moving it.. how much free space does it say you have. (with an 80gb harddrive you should use NTFS… uncompressed files are accessed much more faster.. You can still do this. A good rule of thumb is you can change your files one way.. one time. If you decide you want to do this, click on start..then help and support andf navigate your way to converting files)

i have 4 drives a: c: d: and e: it says i have 950mb free ( i deleted some programs i didn't use much)
