I have been having issues with svchost gobbling up my ram - now less noticeable - and diverting to an ad site when I use the back button on Yahoo Mail.I saw some members had gotten resolution in this forum, so I have installed hijackthis and run it on my computer. I have AVG7.5 Free Edition, ZoneAlarm and Adaware running on my computer. Here is my hijackthis log:

I have some more information to add. My computer specifically becomes slow when a Windows Update Process kicks off - wuauclt.exe located in the windows\system32 folder (I used Process Explorer to find thios out). If it is not obvious from the log above, I need to add that I run Windows XP on my machine, and I currently have half a GIG of RAM. When I kill the Windows Update Process (which I cannot recall having successfully run in the recent past), it comes alive again, and this loop continues until I kill the SVCHOST process that hosts it. That results in loss of a few features such as the sound on the machine. The Update process does not kick in each time I log on, only once in a while. Deleting the above-referenced executable helps, but after a login or two, it gets reloaded from Microsoft's web site. Thanks, - Porcupyn

Sorry for the delay
If you still need help and haven't posted at another forum.

Download and install AVG Anti-Spyware (ewido). Then scan and save the log from the scan.
Instructions and download link can be found here.

Rescan with hijackthis and post a new log with the results from AVG .
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
