I have read the "before you post tutorial" and followed it exactly, Below are my results.
The main problem I have noticed besides very slow start up from cold boot, Is that my cursor has begun to act erratically and frequently freezes up for a moment or two and occasioanally opens things on pages without being clicked on.
This is my first time using any help forums so please be patient with me if I make a mistake.

Hi chubbiguy40and welcome to Tom Coyote forums

I am currently looking over your log. As I am an Undergraduate, everything that I post to you must be checked by an Admin or Moderator. Thus, there may be a tiny bit of a delay between posts, but it shouldn't be too long. I will post back shortly with a potential fix.

Thanks for your patience!
dan

Hi chubbiguy40

I noticed you have allowed some sites into your trusted zone!
If you use these sites frequently, and trust the sites, and are comfortable leaving these entries in your Trusted Zone, that's up to you.
however, realize that you are taking a big security risk by allowing any site to have unfettered access to your Trusted Zone.
This is your call it's your machine, I can only advise you.

Dan:

As you advised I downloaded ATF cleaner
I then ran hjt in scan only and checked the six objects you requested and clicked fix checked
I made the changes in the system folders exactly as you said to, I rebooted in safe mode and ran ATF cleaner (select all)
I right clicked start and selected explore I then checked each file/folder on the left there was no (C:\WINDOWS\system32\gebcc.dll << This file) revealed in any file/folder
I used start>search and searched for "winepi32.dll" no results were found.
I scanned with AVG the results are posted below
rebooted in normal mode and ran the kaspersky online scan results are posted below

Hi chubbiguy40

Something I should of done from the start ! we have been ok so far and not needed it.
Highjackthis.exe is running out of a temp folder: C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\temp\hijack\HijackThis.exe
.
HijackThis.exe in a Temp folder: Can be accidentally deleted when the temp files are cleaned out, so to the backups.
Highjackthis.exe needs a permanant folder of it's own in order to create backups
Create a folder on the desktop, right click on the desktop, select new folder, and name it HJT . Now locate HijackThis.exe copy and paste it into the new folder ( HJT ) you created on the desktop.
Please do this before carrying on.
______________________

Right click start, In the drop down menu click "Explore" Then navigate to each file\ folder in the left hand pane, which will reveal its content in the right hand pane, highlight file or folder right click and Delete, if present:

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\amazingcdburnerfree.exe << This file

  • Scroll down to where it says " Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6".
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.
  • Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
  • The page will refresh.
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.
  • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
  • Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
  • Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
  • Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
  • Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
  • Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
  • Then from your desktop double-click on the download to install the newest version.

Dan:

I have given hijackthis it's own permanent folder on the desktop, Thru start>explore I located C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\amazingcdburnerfree.exe << This file and deleted it.
I downloaded jre6 offline and removed all existing java in add/remove programs, I rebooted and then installed jre6.
Although I am fairly inexperienced with PC issues and not the best judge, It appears to me everything is working ok at this point.
below is an updated hjt log.

Hi chubbiguy40

Well done you have done well.

You can remove any programs I had you install if you wish.

You need to create a new Clean restore point.

Note: This will remove all previous Restore Points

Turn off System Restore:

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Restart your computer, turn it back on.

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Remove the Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Check "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, Uncheck "Show hidden files and folders."
Check "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.

If you dont have any programs like these, I would recommend that you get them.
Spywareblaster
Spywareguard
IE Spyads
They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware se & Spybot once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.

I would also suggest you read this:
So how did I get infected in the first place?
