I was working on a problem with little eagle in the hijack this forum and I followed all his directions and things got better except Illustrator CS2 locks up and won't save. my previous actions are all recorded in the old unresolved logs. I tried to respond to the same topic and I couldn't. I got an error which said I didn't have permission. I was told to send my latest log on the old thread. I scanned it and have it ready but I don't know where or how to send it. It says no logs here so I don't know what to do. I need this Illustrator problem fixed as soon as possible as I have to work with it. I reinstalled illustrator 10 to get me buy but I really need CS2. Can you help me? Thanks
I already have Illustrator CS2 and it worked fine until after having the other computer issues. After the other things were fixed. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it and it still had the same problem so i'm wondering if it could me a windows problem or if its still connected to the old issue that I was working on with little eagle. I do have a recent Hijack This log scan, which he told me to send in after I reinstalled Norton which I did. My original thread is under old unresolved logs now so I'm wondering if the work was finished and the problem was related to the old unresolved problem. I'm wondering how i can find out how to follow up on the old stuff also, in addition to working on this new topic with you, just in case it is related to the old issue. I don't know i'm just guessing. If you have any thoughts I'd like to hear them because I really don't know what I'm doing. Thanks
Hi again
The problem you're experiencing could be due to you not having a powerful enough PC to run Illustrator. I know most Adobe products use alot of System Resources. But if you're saying it ran fine before, then maybe not?
It does seem very strange.
I would suggest this, sorry if you did this exact thing, but it's all i can think of:
Uninstall Illustrator
Restart PC
Reinstall Illustrator under a different location on the C: drive.
for example, when installing, the location to install will be something like: C:/program files/ illustrator
and if you just put: a '2' on the end, so it looks like:
C:/program files/ illustrator2
It will install to a new directory. This may solve the problem?
If it doesn't, (i'd need someone like Dough to back me up on this), but i'm thinking you have corrupt registry keys still on your machine from Illustrator? And you'd have to ask for help removing them in the spyware/malware section.
Best to get a second opinion
Sorry i cannot help more
