I am running 3 spybot, lavasoft adware and avg. All free editions and I believe suggested in your forum. I think avg runs all the time where as I run spybot and adware manually. Good, bad or…

Did you remove McAfee?

I am sorry. MacAfee came with the pc when new several years ago. It is hopelessly out of date. I would like to get rid of it but have been afraid to uninstall it because I did not know if that would cause some problem. Do you think I can safely uninstall it?

Yes, remove it in add and remove programs.

OK. What's next if anything. I think I have one or two remaining issues, i.e. the VBS/Redlof and active.desktop issues that get identified but not fixed by the software.
