Hi,

everytime my computer boots up to windows, or I open an MS office application, I get the following (2) messages in succession three times.

Heading of message box1: Norton AntiVirus 2005
Text in message1: Please wait while windows configures Norton AntiVirus 2005
Options: Cancel
(almost immediatly after this message appears, the next box appears)
Heading of message box2: Setup
Text in message2:The MSI must be launched through set up. For more information, please visit http://www.symantec.com/install
Options: Ok.

After I hit ok, the messages disappear, but reappear again another two times before finally disappearing. Any thoughts?
Do you use Norton AntiVirus 2005 on this machine?

If so, you apparently have a problem with the operation of the utility that is related to a failure in its correct installation, or components of Norton AntiVirus 2005 have become corrupted, or removed intentionally or unintentionally.

The Link that you include on your post refers to the use of Norton Removal Tool to completely remove the Norton product from your machine to discontinue use of the product, or to prepare for a fresh re-installation of Norton AntiVirus 2005.

To remove all components of Norton AntiVirus 2005, Download and run the Norton Removal Tool from here:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgen…005033108162039

Then you can freshly reinstall Norton AntiVirus 2005 using your purchased CD, or your prior downloaded installation file, that you either paid for or obtained from your ISP.
If you paid for Norton AntiVirus 2005 but no longer have the installation files, you may have to contact Norton, your ISP, or possibly pay an additional fee to obtain the product installation files.

***Please Note: It is very important to always have your machine protected with a competent AntiVirus Product. If you own and like Norton AntiVirus 2005 reinstall it immediately after following the instructions in the link above.

If you prefer not to use Norton AntiVirus 2005, get another paid product AntiVirus or use one of the free AntiVirus products.

I use AVG AntiVirus 7.5 from www.grisoft.com
You can download it free, here:

Best Regards
