Sorted it
If anyone ever gets this problem, proceed with caution to the registry. Start > Run > regedit
Please do a backup of the registry before attempting anything.
Click Start and select the Run option. Type "regedit" and hit enter. As with any Registry edits, you should backup your Registry before starting (File->Export->All or File->Export->Selected Branch "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT"). Find and select the key "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell". On the right hand side of the window you will see a value named "(Default)"; double-click on this value. Set the value to "none". Once you make this change, your folders should instantly be back to normal.
That sorted it.
Hi bob glad you sorted.
Dont forget to set a system restore point for other future times when you are "testing" areas that are unknown to you in the operating system It can get you out of a rut much quicker !!
PS Nice screenshot - But be carefull with Hijackthis! Hijackthis is a specialist tool which finds the most common areas that malicious software hides, what you are actually doing is not simply removing "unwanted" lines, but in fact you are actually editing registry values. Ide hate to see you formatting due to removing a legit entry !
Take care
Thanks Hammer51. The Hijack this was open from another problem i ran into a little bit earlier (LDTate helped with that one) over in my other topic. I will try not to mess about too much in future - things always go wrong when i do, but at least i learn from it
Cheers again
