Hi thanks for looking at this. A few weeks ago I had to format my hard drive so it's a nice fresh install of windows xp. Yesterday when I was connecting to http://community.sigames.com/ I noticed the word Hitbox at the end of it so I searched the web as to what it was and found it was a tracking cookie.

I saw some thing in another forum about some one who had this in he's registry so I had a look in mine.

I found loads of things in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT>SOFTWARE>WINDOWS>CURRENT VERSION>INTERNETSETTINGS>P3P>HISTORY> then things like gator.com, 888.com, clickbank.net, hitbox.com and about 100 others.

I tried deleting them but they come straight back.

Also some other strange things have been happening not to sure if they are related to spyware, vius or trojans. When I turn my computer on the language thing next to the system tray is always there and my internet connection wireless key thing disconnects and connects at it's own will.

So here at last is my log file. Oh yeah I've run Spybot, Spysweeper and Zonealarm which find nothing.

Hi,

Your log looks clean. It's possible that some of the "strange things" might be related to your settings.

As far as the registry key is concerned, you copied the wrong key. The location is:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\P3P\History
Read the following for an explanation of the key:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/182569

• To clean your cookies, do the following:
In Internet Explorer:
- Go to Start > Control Panel > Internet Options
- At the General Tab, click Delete Cookies > click OK
- Click OK and exit.
In Firefox:
- Open Firefox
- Click Tools > Options > Privacy Tab
- Click the Privacy tab, click Clear Cookies Now
- Click OK and exit.

• To change your settings for cookies, do the following:
In Firefox, click Tools -> Options - Privacy tab -> Cookies tab
- Tick "Allow sites to set Cookies"
- Tick "for the originating site only"
- Do not tick "unless I have removed cookies from this site"
- In "Keep Cookies" - select either "ask me every time" or "until I close Firefox" (whichever you prefer)
- Click OK
- When you do accept cookies, choose the option "Session Only"
In Internet Explorer, click Tools -> Internet Explorer -> Privacy tab
- Tick "Override automatic cookie handling"
- Under "First-party Cookies" - tick "Prompt"
- Under "Third-party Cookies - tick "Block"
- Click OK and Apply
Rule of thumb: Don't accept cookies for every site - be selective. You can deny most cookies, and you will be blocked from most of the tracking cookies.
Glad I could help.
