I seem to have a major sound problem. All of a sudden one day i noticed i had no sound. At first I checked my sound setting and it said no sound device installed. I ended up having to repair windows in case it was corrupt becaus i would install the sound via my installation cd before reboot it would work then after reboot the sound device was gone again. After the repair of windows the sound and driver stays installed but no sound. If I put in my Audigy sound blaster cd and setup the installation again the sound works fine as soon as i reboot no sound again. When i check the sound setting the sound decice and driver are there. I checked all the volumes and all is set up fine. Why do i keep loosing sound as soon as I reboot?
Look in your Services and StartUp menus to see if Audigy or Creative Services or Devices are disabled. When you first install Audigy, your sound works? Then upon Reboot it doesn't? Could be that Rebooting sets this sound utility to "disable" when you reboot? Start - Run (type)MSCONFIG - Enter Inspect/modify the listings in StartUp(tab) Inspect/modify the listings in Services(tab) Have you Run Windows File Protection System File Checker to replace any missing or corrupt OS files? Start - Run - (type)sfc /scannow - Enter <—— notice the space between "c" and "/" In Control Panel - MultiMedia Do you hve a checkmark in "Show Volume Control on the TaskBar"? Be sure that Volume control is set at least half way up the volume slider. Is it possible that you need to Re-install Audio Chipset Drivers from your motherboard manufacterer's website? Did you install Audigy after purchase of the Computer? Does the Computer have a default Onboard Audio? You may need to go into BIOS to "disable" onboard Audio and enable PCI Audio? Best Regards
