:rant: After about 18 months, hundreds of dollars, way too many sleepless nights, lost (or stolen) personal and company files and the harm done to some valued freindships I admit I cannot try and solve what to me is now a massive infected, wormed thru, trojan horse stomped, zombiefied and generally completely #$%^**%#(*^# up 'puter that every tech or IT individual I spoken with (After they gladly took me for major $$$$$) have said that cannot be fixed or the problems I describe cannot possibily occur, I turn to you, and your vast wisdom to try and make sense of it all. I'll do my best to be breif in my details of what really HAS OR IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW. Keep in mind that I am and have been the only user of this puter.
- It appears that my admin profile has been copiedand this new "user" took all of my unlimited access rights, has passworded out this new user profile and down graded my "administrator" status to that of a mere user.
- when all of this problem started ALL, YES every single file on my computer was copied and removed from the system and stripped down or shell copies were left in their place . I'm referring to Mypictures, documents, software, videos etc.. What had happened to the OS file system I have no Idea, Ah those days of being new and stupid. At this time i noticed that it appeared that a "network" had been set up on my system and new connections showed up in my control panel - Emails that in all ways looked like they came from my puter have been sent to everyone in my addressbook and then on to everyone in their address books etc.. some of these were quite innocent and beign (ya right!!) others were loaded with attached viruses etc and or my personal, PRIVATE information, some of these apparently were sent to specific ppl in my address book with the sole intent of infecting or destorying their computers, or the working/personal connections
- formats of harddrives, replacement of harddrives, changing computers, changing of O/S systems, using only factory disks (XP<98<2000<95 - Often I was unable to log on to the net but after calling my isp(telus) and having them walk me through resets and in a couple of instances removed bridged connections, all was solved…I thought many times I encountered the following warning when attempting to remidy a problem or take what i thought was proactive security steps" that process/file/program cannot be opened,closed, modified,deleted etc because it is in use by another program,user,systemetc"
- Telus Freedom Security package (Firewall, antivirus,pop-up,spy/malware protection) was either turned off, stopped from loading or moved way back in the boot up sequence, or became corrupted and unuseable.. it never once showed any problems that other sample download programs found readily (avg, Zone Alarms)
_ recent Install of Registry Mechanic showed numerouse problems that were, for the most part solveable however there are 5 files that reside in either :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer\shell folders or
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE|Software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\internetsettings\chche\paths\path 1 (2,3,4)
that can be removed, but reinstall on every subsequent reboot.
-Googling the problem files that were identified led to other recent changes in registry settings, restoring them to factrory settings, other research led to other software installs such as RootKit Hook. Yet more research led me to see that almost every single file in the registry has been changed or corrupted, changed, had permissions changed and so on.
- More casting about on the net with my now wide opened , recently enlightened eyes led me to your site and HiJack this and here we are;

I also have logs of Registry Mechanic scans that I can supply if they will be of any use. Your looking into this matter is very much appreaciated and I await your response eagerly. Thank you in advance!
