unable to drag and drop icons from desktop to an open window or open w

Hello, I'm unable to drag and drop icons from desktop to an open window or open window to open window what happens is when i hold down the left mouse button to drag an icon from the desktop to an open window *** the cursor changes to a black circle with a diagonal line going through it (like the no smoking sign symbol) what is causing this to happen? thx rob ps: ONLY copy/cut and paste works now

Drag and drop is copy and paste… what kind of window are you trying to drag and drop into….?

did a system restore point, everything is fine now,

i can now drag / drop icons from the desktop to explorer.exe window OR drag/drop icons from explorer.exe window to explorer.exe window OR explorer.exe window to desktop

i'm not sure if this update was the cause of the problem:

Check and see if its disabled… with IE (Internet Explorer) open, click on tools then internet options. Under the Securities tab highlight the "internet" icon and the click on the "Custom Level" button… scroll down about halfway (its under miscellaneous) and find the drag/drop copy/paste setting and make sure its enabled. Sorry about that… was waiting for your post to show up, didnt wait long enough.
