I thought I sent this message last night, but an error message appeared during the sending and I didn't know whether it went through or not. But it looks like it didn't, so I'm re-sending the HJT log and apologizing if it turns out that I've sent it twice.
I've got a minor problem that consists of a.) little red boxes that have recently appeared around icons and some other graphics (like the read-mail symbols, the attachment paperclips, etc. in OE). The little red boxes are actually made up of red vertical lines. Other problem is that my cursor arrow had picked up a half-inch long vertical line running through it. This occurs whether the cursor is the arrow, the little hand, the hourglass, or, as right now, the vertical marker (not the blinking cursor, but the one like a big capital I).
I don't recall adding any new programs in the last few days (when this started). I've run Ad-Aware (build 1.06r1), Spybot S&D 1.3, and ewido 4.0.0.172 (run in safe mode as directed here).
