worm/virus again...

Micah was able to help me with this a few days ago, but it seems to be back. I don't know if i became reinfected or the problem was not ever really fixed. I looked to see if the files were back in my computer that Micah had me delete, but I could not find them. I tried to have that thread reopened, but I have not heard anything back in several days so I am opening a new thread.

Fix this with HijackThis!:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [nvchost] C:\WINDOWS\winlogon.exe

Reboot in "safe" mode.

Find and delete:

C:\WINDOWS\winlogon.exe <— file

Delete this file in this folder only!!!

Some malware files may be "hidden".
Be sure to show hidden files when looking for these file(s) and/or folder(s).

Reboot in normal mode and "copy/paste" a new HijackThsi! log file into this thread.

Go to:

Start –> All programs –> Accessories –> System Tools –> System Restore

Create a new system restore point.

I'll leave this thread open for a week.

If it comes back, post again, and we'll do a few other things.
