Hi, I have a free trial version of Spy Sweeper and it keeps telling me that it is finding Winlogonhook on my computer. I have run Norton Antivirus, Ad-Aware, Spybot, Ewido, Panda Activescan and eTrust Antivirus Web Scanner and they do not find anything except some mild spyware. However, I'm still concerned because Spy Sweeper detects it every time I scan. Help please. -Maggie

Welcome to the forum :wavey:

Important: Create a folder on the C: drive called C:\HJT.
You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e) then double click on C: then right click and select New then Folder and name it HJT.
Download HijackThis into this folder.

Run it from that folder.
Click "Do a system scan and save a log file".

DO NOT "FIX" ANYTHING WITH IT YET!!!
FIXING THE WRONG THING COULD RENDER YOUR SYSTEM INOPERABLE!!!

Reply to this thread, and "copy/paste" the ENTIRE CONTENTS of the log file into this thread.

CLOSE ALL WINDOWS (even this one) AND PROGRAMS!!!!

Run Hijack This!
Click "Do a systen scan only".
Then "check" the box to the left of these item(s):

O20 - Winlogon Notify: winyoc32 - winyoc32.dll (file missing)

Then click "Fix checked" and close Hijack This!.

Reboot.

Please download/unzip this:

Registry Search by Bobbi Flekman

on regsearch.exe, and search for this:

{145e1284-0898-1033-1031-050406250001}

Make sure all the boxes are checked under "Search".

It may take a while to run, so be patient. When finished, the search results will appear in your text editor,

Paste the search results into your next post, along with a new HijackThis! log.

Copy and paste the contents of the quote box below into notepad.

Save it as file name: "fixme.reg" (not including the quotes). Save as file type: *All files* and save it on your Desktop.
