Hi,

I've run SpySweeper many, MANY times, in regular and safe mode, along with eWido and SpySweeper still detects the winlogonhook trojan as well as randomly gives me the message that it's blocking access for here4search.biz and a few other sites. Please, please, PLEASE! Help!! Below is my HijackThis log file. THANK YOU!

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. Yes, I'm still having some problems that Spy Sweeper and Ewido don't seem to be able to get rid of.

Problems include:
-Random pop-up dialogs with either "Spyware Removal Wizard" or "System Integrity Scan Wizard" in the title bar that basically try to get me to install something. These seem to only pop-up when using IE 6.0.28
-I'm also getting a fake warning pop-up trying to get me to install DriveCleaner which Ewido is detecting as Trojan.FakeAlert. It quarantines it but always comes back.

I suggest you do this:

Please do not delete anything unless instructed to.

You need To disable SpySweeper:it can stop our fix.

Open it click >Options over to the left then >program options >Uncheck "load at windows startup".
Over to the left click "shields" and uncheck all there.
Uncheck "home page shield".
Uncheck 'automaticly restore default without notifiction".

Make sure you activate these again when your clean.


Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time or two.


Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

Ok…followed your instructions. I had to leave the 06's as those are securities implemented by the sys admin here. After doing what you said, I've been unable to recreate the browsing process that makes the pop-ups appear and run spysweeper and ewido scans with no results being found, so it seems at face that your help did the trick. Though the pop-ups were occurring with IE and I use it sparingly as I'm a Firefox guy, I've not had a single problem so far today since running your instructions. Needless to say, YOU'RE THE GREATEST! THANKS AGAIN!
