Can anyone help me figure out which processes should and should not be running on my pc. I have heard people say that they only have about 20 running and I currently have between 45 - 50 at ay given time.
Ok the castle cops thing, don't knowif I was supposed to search Tom Coyote or what but the only thing it brought up was HJT logs and open forums on news. one site was under construction and the other was $29, spending money isn't why I posted here.
It all depends on your CPU really, my laptop has about 50 running processes upon start up, and thats because i have alot of programs needed for school i think. dont worry too much about it
Here's the free version of AnswersThatWork.

You have to navigate alphabetically to look up each item you want to investigate.

If you want alot of the work done for you, you can do a Full Test over at PCPitstop.com
The full test takes less than 2 minutes and is an excellent overview of your machine, its hardware, operating system, installed programs, efficiency of operation, and good tips related to any problems that are found.

You will be asked to register with a valid email address and your own chosen personal password.
When you click to Run the Full Test, you will be asked to accept an ActiveX which allows the Test to Run on your machine. It is safe.

Full Test at http://www.pcpitstop.com does not cost any money.

PCPitstop is my home Forum and I've Run the Full Test on many dozens of machines as well as my own machines, many dozens of times. It is quite often my first step in diagnosising problems that crop up.

After Running Full Test, if you would like additional assistance, you can Post the TechExpress Link back here into this Forum here at TomCoyote and Members here will assist you.

Best Regards
