Hello. I am trying to remove the adware/spyware from a friend's machine. While I have gotten most of it, there is several that I cannot seem to be able to remove. Here is the HijackThis log. Hopefully it will help.

Thanks.

Hi,

sorry for the delay, our helpers have been very busy.

1. Download this file - combofix.exe
2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

Open HijackThis, click Config, click Misc Tools
Click "Open Uninstall Manager"
Click "Save List" (generates uninstall_list.txt)
Click Save, copy and paste the results in your next post.

In your next post, please include
  • new hijackthis log
  • combofix log
  • uninstall list
*use separate posts to ensure the logs don't get cut off!
Thanks for trying. I finally backed up my data yesterday and reinstalled the OS from scratch, so I've got the machine OK for now. I do have a question on how to use the Classroom. I've gone in to where I think it is supposed to be, but am not quite sure how to use it. I just recently was permitted to join, and want to be able to learn more so I can help answer these kinds of problems on this forum. Thanks.

I'm not exactly sure what you're question is. However, as I'm not too familiar with the Classroom myself, I would suggest posting any questions about the classroom in the Learning Hall

let me know if you have any other questions or concerns; or just post back so I can move this thread into the resolved malware forum.
