From ME to XP pro

My friend has PC which has winME and now going to go to winXP pro, Its long overdue as he has got the PC into a bit of a mess so we want to completely wipe the hardrive and then install XP pro. All things he wants to save have been put on CDs and all the CDS for printers/scanners etc are sitting ready to reinstall,so we are ready to go. Whats the best way to do this. I have done a clean install of XP before but cant quite remember how I done it, so any guidance would be appreciated. thanks
