Description of a remaining problem:
I say remaining because I've had and fixed quite a number of earlier Malware etc. problems without direct assistance by this forum… but this one has me stumped:

On start-up each time, I get the bubbles notifying "New Network Controller" found, New Sound Card (SigmaTel Audio) New Wireless card, and new Wired Network (Broadcom 52G) all found as New Hardware, and the Wired Network is re-replicated with an arbitrary number such as 29, 30, 31 (sometimes not in 1-greater-than-last) order. I immdiately disable that (Cat5 cable) Network, since I'm almost always wireless, do not need that connection. I've also gone to Services, and disabled the Terminal Services, to eliminate shared network usage.
I am reaonably confident since I am also frequently moving to 4 or more different Wireless networks, all security enabled, that I'm not dealing with specific individual-action type intrusion.

I do continue to have an annoyingly frequent number of pop-ups, that no amount of running Trend Micro cookie sweeps seems to eliminate… could there be a connection between the "probelm" above and these pop-ups?? Also, Installed Microsoft's latest patch for the WMF hole, and although had a hard start after install; I was experiencing these Network Replication problems since installing and un-installing iTunes junk!!

Here, I've posed both a small list of my suspects which I lifted from the full HijackT. 1.9+ results just scanned and created:

Thanks in advance for you help on this .
Well, this is not a reply just another request for some suggestions… The problems still persist. My Wired Network Connection is now up to number 44, each time I boot-up there is "new hardware found" for the Ethernet Controller and for the Audio Controller, and they are re-installed as new hardware. By the way, my Wireless connection seems to be stable now, remaining as #10. However, other little "glichy" stuff happens on boot-up as well, to indicate more than just a standard start is happening. I'm using Firefox now as my browser of choice; running the little Show Cookies app… and deleting all new ones that come in when pop-ups happen. Also running Trend Micro cookie sweeper often too. I hope someone has some suggestions soon. Again thanks in advance.
Hi and welcome to the forum. :D

Step # 1

Please download and run CWShredder. Make sure that all browser windows are closed with the exception of Cwshredder and choose FIX.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloadget.php?…7fd6b3ff02edc90

REBOOT

Step #2

Please download and run Spybot 1.4 & AdAware SE Then follow the instructions in the link below to run.

Spybot & Adaware Tutorial

REBOOT

Step # 3

Then do a virus scan here >>> Trend Micro

Step # 4

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Save the logfile from the scan.

Restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.
Ran all three suggested: Ad-A, T M and SBot-S&D… Nothing but Cookies found.

Ran ewido… Here's the log followed by a new HJT log:

Seems to be better, certainly quicker on the start-up sequence, without the "new hardware found" routines for sound and network cards etc. Ewido found a bunch of stuff as I guess you could see… 46 items! With all this junk banging around the net, it must be keeping you guys busy. Thanks alot. Any quick suggestions for how to keep from getting re=infected?

f you dont have these three programs I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster, Spywareguard and IESPY AD. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. In my signature below is also a tutorial on how to harden IE, a good read and very helpful to stop these things in the future. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on.

Safe Surfing. :D
