My computer appears to have a pretty malicious problem, I think it even screwed up a camera memory stick I stuck in. I did a full Symantec Anti-Virus search, and I only found one problem. This is what showed up: Scan type: Manual Scan Event: Threat Found! Threat: Trojan.Vundo File: C:\WINDOWS\system32\awtqo.dll Location: Quarantine Computer: YOUR-D137MZMHOW User: Administrator Action taken: Quarantine succeeded Date found: Friday, October 14, 2005 7:37:15 PM It failed to quarantine it about a dozen times, and failed, and now it apparently worked. I'd still like to rid my PC of this though, but the location of the threat looks vital to me. Does anyone know a way of extracting this without damaging my system software? Thanks alot.
Hi there, This is quite a nasty infection…there is an uninstaller available but it rarely works. I would therefore advise that you download Hijack This and post up an HJT log in the appropriate forum on this site…then it can be removed. I have to say, the amount of people lately being infected by this trojan is reaching epidemic proportions, so you are far from being alone. Big Smiles HS
