Hello…
I am presently working on a Windows XP box that is infected with the puper.dll trojan. Whenever I start IE, McAfee immediately pops up to tell me that the file hp****.tmp is infected and has been deleted. Trojan Hunter is unable to find the problem….neither can SpyBot or AdAware. McAfee sees it and deletes the tmp file but apparently doesn't delete the real source of the infection. I have searched without success for the HHK.DLL manually and through Windows Explorer. I have researched the HOW TO DELETE THIS TROJAN forums all over the net and have manually gone through the registry per their instructions. Obviously I'm missing something. Below is my most recent HIJACK log. I sure hope you can help/suggest something. I'm not real excited about rebuilding this box from scratch….although if that is what it's going to ultimately take, then I'll just have to bite the bullet.
Thanks for any help! :-)
