wireless network problem

i try to add a laptop to my wireless network.the laptop is a compact 1255 w/ win98se. i buy a netgear wireless pc card 32 bit card bus ma521. after install the driver i go to device manager to check if all ok, there was a yellow exclamation.the device status read…….the ndis.vxd,ntkern.vxd device loader(s) for this devices could not load the device driver (code2). i look in the card cd and the win98se cd and no where to find thoses.any idea where i can find or download thoses vxd? what is a vxd?

Is the card compatible with Windows 98? Ok scratch that.. looked up card and yes it is. Try uninstalling the device.. not the driver.. and then reboot and see if it finds it.

hi new problem!!! after install the driver and the card as the manual request was it supposes to see the wireless configuration utility window but the window just pop up and disappear.i check on the task manager and appear working.the card appear asThis device is working properlyon the device manager.the problem is i cant display the configuration utility window to end the set up of the card.i try basic things like unistall all and install again,scandisk.any idea what i can do.

What happens when you right click on the connection and choose properties..?

thanks for asking.my network connection on the laptop isnot workingi cant open or create a network connection.when right click on the connection and choose properties read:the properties for this item are not availeble.on my network neighbornhood when doble click read: unable to browse network the network is not accesible what i can do?

Ok click on start… then RIGHT click on My Network Places inside the start menu… then choose properties… whats it say

no my network places icon or link on the star menu

hmm.. is there on your desktop..? and if so when you right click and choose properties what does it say

yes is on the desktop.when right click and choose properties display the network component instaled

ok then highlight "TCP/IP" option and click on "details" then when that window opens you should see your card and have an option to edit its settings

thanks for all the help crow.sorry take so long to post back.alot of work.well still not work my wireless network.the system recognizes the card but i cant finish the instalation.maybe is low resourcesof my laptop.the system requirement of the card is a pentium 400 mhz or faster.my laptop have a amd 330 mhz.what you think about this diferent between the prosesors?
