Hi there and thanx for reading this. I will try and keep it short as possible. 1) Start Menu- when I click on it, it comes up weird! > Description= it is extremely slow at appearing, and sometimes it kinda unfolds into view ( from top to centre then bottom- very slowly) This happens occasionaly- Not all of the time? 2) sometimes other programs take a while to load up ( Not all of the time) 3) when on the net, sometimes going from one page to the next is very slow, and sometimes it just wont load fully ( gets stuck half way) I will leave it at that for the moment, until I get help, and answer any questions you may need to ask me regarding this problem I'm having. Thanx ( in advance ) Cheers!
The problems you speak of can be cleared by running a HiJackThis! scan and posting the log of the scan results in the HiJackThis! topic here at TomCoyote. Do not post it here. Your infection will be cleaned, and surfing will be fun again! Please do not wait to long, as the malware could shut you down completely.

If you need HiJackThis! (free download) http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/ and you will be taken care of by a HJT professional here at TC!

Are you running any malware/spyware tools? You need at the very least these:

1.) Lavasoft Ad-Aware SE http://www.lavasoft.de/ freeware

2.) SPYBOT Search & Destroy http://www.safer-networking.org freeware

3.) Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta, v 1.0.615 beta / freeware

http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/s…re/default.mspx

4.) AVG (virus scanner) http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5 freeware

They are all free, so why not install them today?

hApPyGoLuKy- First, how long has it been since you have run your maintenance app's.. like.. disk cleanup and/or defrag? Also, How many icons are in your system tray (were your clock is)? It doesnt necessarily mean that you have spyware/malware because your computers performance lacks or is falling off. Most of the time this is traced back to users not running maintenance on a regular basis. However, both replies above are sound (aside from Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta…and thats just personal opinion). Either way though, you need to run maintenance as often as you think about it.

Hi to all that replied and thanx. Found the problem. 60% pin loss. Cable fault. Tech from cable supply coming to check and fix tomorrow. CHEERZ 2 ALL.
I'd like to know the answer to Crow's question myself. I was betting a good top to bottom clean up including the registry and startup items would take care of the problem. :(
