I would really appreciate it anyone could help me out. I run Norton AV & IS, aswell as Ad-aware but they dont seem to want to do the trick.

G'Day Mate, Welcome to TomCoyote forum. You have picked up some nasties and I want to chat a bit before we start the fix. It's a bit unusual not to see anything in the top of the log with an infection but it does happen. Please follow these directions if you still need help:

1) You have two 015 items by Music Match in your "trusted zone" and I am not sure I would even allow MM on my computer let alone in a position of "Trust".

2) You have three Premium Dialers which appear as Downloaded Program Files in the 016 area of your log. I will remove them, but I would like you to look at all 016 items, if you do not know them or no longer user them, check them for removal. I checked one etradeaustralia that came back as no longer valid.

3) This is a problem: O21 - SSODL: SystemCheck2 - {54645654-2225-4455-44A1-9F4543D34545} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\vbsys2.dll Sometimes it goes easily and sometimes not. We will see…but you need to know more about this trojan, how you got it and what changes it may have made to your system that you might have to correct. Here is that information:
http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/trojadclickac.html

4) Download CCleaner from this link: http://www.ccleaner.com/ Take the time to review the instructions on the download page so that when I ask you to run it you will know what you are doing.

5) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

O15 - Trusted Zone: *.musicmatch.com
O15 - Trusted Zone: *.musicmatch.com (HKLM)
O16 - DPF: {24311111-1111-1121-1111-111191113457} - file://c:\eied_s7.cab
-Adult Content Dialer
O16 - DPF: {33331111-1111-1111-1111-611111193457} - file://c:\ex.cab
-Adult Content Dialer
O16 - DPF: {33331111-1111-1111-1111-611111193458} - file://c:\ex.cab
-Adult Content Dialer
O21 - SSODL: SystemCheck2 - {54645654-2225-4455-44A1-9F4543D34545} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\vbsys2.dll
Troj/AdClick-AC

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

SHOW HIDDEN FILES: Follow the instructions in the link to enable hidden files for your operating system.
You may wish to reverse this process if you have any concern about anyone getting into these hidden system files.
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\vbsys2.dll May not be there but look carefully.
Let's check for trojans to make sure none are hiding, run this free online scan, scan the whole system and set it to clean or fix anything it locates. Let me know what it finds and the exact name and location of anything it locates but can't remove. You may be asked to install an ActiveX, please do so as this program is safe and it can not run without it.
http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/

Run CCleaner then restart the computer and post a new log in this same thread along with any feedback you have. Let us know how you are running.

Thanks…pskelley

PURGE SYSTEM RESTORE
When you are completely finished with the removal procedure and are satisfied that the threat has been removed follow these instruction:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgen…src=sec_doc_nam
Firts let me say a massive thanks for this. Your help was greatly appreciated.

Followed all your instructions and things seem to be working well for now - hopefully this will continue withou a hitch. :D The new log you can see below.

Found the vbsys2.dll file and deleted as requested. ran the online trojan scan and none were found. Ran CCleaner and restarted.

You mentioned that I should look at the information on sophos. Should I take any further action here??? A bit unsure how to check and change my system from there - is that what is required???

Anyway big thanks again and will continue to monitor for problems. Oh one more thing. I do have a trojin detector in Norton Internet Security. Do I need any further trojin protection on my system???

Panman.

Good morning,

You mentioned that I should look at the information on sophos. Should I take any further action here??? A bit unsure how to check and change my system from there - is that what is required???

Not in this case, I feel that often we remove the stuff and the member has no idea what it was or what it did to the computer. Some of these trojans actually turn off firewalls and av programs making it necessary to reinstall to get them working safely again. This trojan: installs itself as a Browser Help Object (BHO), so we need to get something installed to stop registry changes from occuring without permission like SpywareGuard or Spybot S&D Tea Timer. As this trojan goes it was a good one to get (if that is possible) had it been a trojan with a CWS About:Blank infection, that is much, much harder to remove. Call it my little effort to educate a member a little in an effort to make them more aware and thus safer. Now those dialers are probably DPF (ActiveX) originated and you should look closely at how the broswer's AX controls are set. At the very least you should be receiving a prompt asking if you even wish to install if not blocking all questional AX. I hope this helps, once I am sure you are clean, I will give you information from experts to how you configure your browser to stop this from occuring.

Oh one more thing. I do have a trojan detector in Norton Internet Security. Do I need any further trojin protection on my system???

Humm…I should let you answer your own question. Did you get a trojan? While no system can guarantee 100%, something failed there. Was the system updated (you should be set to auto updates if that setting is available) Since you have NIS why not search the database for the trojan to see if they are keeping you current with these new trojans, that is what you pay them for. A free AV program could miss a trojan…lol.
My apologies, hectic day as it was because our email notifications failed and had me scrambling, I missed a couple of orphans in your log. They are left from something that was removed from the Google Toolbar so if you did not remove them on purpose, you might consider reinstalling Google if you want to get those Google browser helpers and Toolbars functioning again. The items are just clutter and you may follow the same instructions as before to remove them from your drives if you wish.
