I have a Toshiba A65 Laptop, and as my second computer I am content to leave some of the software that came with it on there. Some of it's actually useful. However, when I unlock, and move the Icons on my desktop, the next time I boot they go back to the left side of the screen. I would like to know how to stop this without messing up the useful utilities on this computer. Also, which utilities are the most useful, and which can be safely ditched in a way that won't compromise Toshiba's support. It has Windows XP Home on it. B)
I know about the autoarrange and align to grid functions. Those aren't the problem. It's a program that came with the Toshiba laptop that changes my arrangement after every reboot. ;)
Thanks for the tip on the Mike Lin Startup Control programs. I am a newbie and my pc is recovering from a total takeover! So now that I can more easily look at what is loaded, what is the best way to check to see what the heck each of the items being loaded is? sysinfo.org was recommended in PC mag but when I look there half of what is loaded on my machine doesn't show in that database. Thanks for any suggestions.
