Yes XP2 Firewall is on. I'm seriously thinking about removing XP2. It seems to be nothing but headaches. As you can see by the enclosed HJT log, I chickened out of removing IncrediMail. I have waaaay too many e-mails and folders that I just can't lose and Outlook wouldn't import from that program although it had a bunch of others listed. My computer wouldn't boot up when I turned it on tonight…had to unplug and try again. That was before I followed your latest instructions. I also tried the banking account but it's still the same. Also read another entry w/some info from Micah about downloading IE-Spyad and checking browser settings w/browsercheck.qualys.com and will do that as soon as I send the latest log. Thanks for all your help. Good idea.

Log looks good :D

Note: This will remove all previous Restore Points

Turn off System Restore:

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Restart your computer, turn it back on.

Remove the Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

If you dont have these three programs I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster, Spywareguard and IESPY AD. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.

Safe Surfing. :D
Thanks a bunch LD. I think my only problem now is with my bank. Now they're telling me to "call XP". I'm not too sure this tech even knows that's Microsoft. Hmmm. I am so impressed w/this website that I'm telling everybody about it. I'll keep watching as I'm really learning a lot. You done good!
I'm sure you can disable XP SP2 firewall. I'm running XP SP1 myself. I can do some research on it if you want?

Did Micah's post help?
Sorry, LD, I've been out of pocket for a few days so don't know if Micah's suggested download of IESpyad is working. I wasn't just thinking of removing XP2 firewall but the whole darn SP2! Hopefully I will have some time to check on all of that tonight and get back w/you. His suggestion of checking browser settings didn't show a thing.
LD, IT at my bank did something as I am now able to get on and do some things. So I guess I'll leave XP2 on there for the time being. I've downloaded and updated everything you advised and really appreciate all your help. You can go ahead and close this out. I'm telling everybody I know about your site.
