Browser Hijacking Is Not Fun!

Hey there,

Thank you in advance for your time and help. My home page keeps getting reset to "mypoiskovik.com/index.htm". Its very frustrating. I hope u can help. I have tried adaware, cwshredder, and norton antivirus. I hope you can help. Also I've been having my computer freeze up from time to time. Casalmedia is giving me all these annoying popups, that somehow get past "Best Popup Killer". Not sure what to do and would really appreciate help. Below is a copy of my hijack this report: (also not sure if im doing something wrong as to why my posts earlier tonight have not been responded to. If so please let me know.)

Click here to download the latest version of HijackThis. Doubleclick the file, click Unzip and it will save the application to C:\HijackThis. Run it from there to scan your computer and post a new log here.

Thanks for gettin back to me, here is the new logfile with the download…Hope u can help my comp is outta control. My homepage getting reset every min. to mypoiskovik is terrible. Plus i keep gettin favorites added, if i delete them they're back in a minute. I get WinMin errors when shutting down. Nothing is showing up on my adaware except cookies, nonetheless that return after deletion. Also recieving message from norton about the virus "bloodhound.exploit.6". Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!!

Click here to download CWShredder by Merijn Bellekom and run it, hit 'fix' as opposed to 'scan only'. Reboot when done.

Make sure that you have no browser windows open as this could prevent the fix from working properly. Open HijackThis, scan and when complete, remove the following entries by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

Daemon, Thanks for the advice, i was in the process of following your suggestion when i reached safe mode and realilzed i had no idea how to delete those files. I selected safe mode with prompts and was essentialy redirected to something that resembled dos. I'm not sure what commands would either direct me to the files that need deletion or how to search for the files. Is regedit what i want to be doing? I'm not sure of what command actually deletes the files either. I searched the web but couldn't find anything useful, and didn't want to risk messing my computer up more. Also, you mentioned with the w?nlogon.exe to be careful. How and why??? Thanks again, e

The w?nlogon.exe file - I wanted to make sure you didn't delete winlogon.exe - a legitimate file. Post a new HJT log so I can see where you got to - I will give you more explicit instructions.

Heres a new log file. I didn't delete the party poker listings just because i use party poker regularly and am assuming that if i delete those than the program will not work correctly. If this is not the case please let me know. The mypoiskovik stuff was deleted but came back, prob. cause i didn't get the whole way through the fix.

Click here to download Pocket Killbox by Option^Explicit. Extract it from the zip file then double-click on Killbox.exe to run it.

Select the Delete on reboot option.

In the 'Full Path of File to Delete' box, copy and paste the following, clicking the 'Delete File' button (red circle with a white X) after pasting:

c:\windows\oknbnaw.exe

It will prompt you to reboot, press the NO button. Instead, copy and paste the following and click the 'Delete File' button again:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\375862.exe

When it prompts you to reboot this time, press the YES button.

After restarting, with only HijackThis running, scan and when complete, remove the following by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

i followed your instructions and here is the new log. THe 04 Global Startup:375862.exe wasn't there to delete, there was some other global startup but i left it there
