I`m new here so I hope I`m posting in the right forum under appropriate guidelines.

I`m hoping someone can give me information on partitioning a hard drive. What the advantages and disadvantages are.

If that requires too much space to be answered here, is there a website that anyone knows of where I could find the information needed to help me decide whether or not to partition my drive.
