I assume that I could run SuperAdBlocker and periodically still do an AdAware and SpyBot scan, but since TomCoyote is quite high on SuperAdBlocker I wonder if that would be unnecessary. Also, I wonder if there is any conflict or compatibility problem in using all three. From a almost newbie, grandpaw
Hello grandpaw7, and welcome to TomCoyote.
Running all 3 Anti-Malware programs shouldn't cause any conflicts. But, if you have all 3 respective resident scanners active, you may possibly be bombarded by warning popups from all 3 programs if they detect anything. In this case, I would shut down two of the resident scanners and just leave 1 of them active.
As for your question about having all installed being uneccessary, I would say no. It is better to have more than one program installed as one program may detect and clean something that the other(s) miss.
Layering protective programs is one of the best ways to minimize infection.
You may also want to look into installing SpywareBlaster, SpywareGuard, and IE-SPYAD. I use all three of these programs in addition to Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D.

Hope this helps.
