Make sure that you have no browser windows open as this could prevent the fix from working properly. Open HijackThis, scan and when complete, remove the following entries by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = about:blank
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [VBouncer] C:\PROGRA~1\VBOUNCER\VirtualBouncer.exe

Click here, for instructions on how to enable hidden files and folders to be visible. After enabling, reboot into safe mode by tapping F8 after the BIOS has loaded, find and delete the following:

C:\Program Files\COMMON FILES\WINTOOLS\ <– folder
C:\Program Files\Privacy Champion\ <– folder

Reboot when done, rescan with HJT and post a new log here for a final check over. Also post a startuplist log, in HJT>Config>Misc Tools and check the two boxes under the button.
Howdy, I followed all of your instructions. I could not find the file C:\Program Files\Privacy Champion\ <– folder and when I tried to shut down and reboot from safe mode it froze on me and told me that an error occurred in RUNDll32? It also continues to tell me that it has to be shut down, and it keeps looking for CSTRAY and asking me to replace it with something else? BUT, it doesn't ask me to connect to the intenet any more! And the programs on my desk top are gone, like online dating and casino! :D Anyway, here are my new logs.
 Thanks for all of your help!

REM Notes:
REM DOSSTART.BAT is run whenenver you choose "Restart the computer
REM in MS-DOS mode" from the Shutdown menu in Windows. It allows
REM you to load programs that you might not want loaded in Windows,
REM (because they have functional equivalents) but that you do
REM want loaded under MS-DOS. The two primary candidates for
REM this are MSCDEX and a real mode driver for the mouse you ship
REM with your system. Commands that you want present in both Windows
REM and MS-DOS should be placed in the Autoexec.bat in the
REM \Image directory of your reference server. Please note that for
REM MSCDEX you will need to load the corresponding real-mode CD
REM driver in Config.sys. This driver won't be used by Windows 98
REM but will be available prior to and after Windows 98 exits.
REM
REM This file is also helpful if you want to F8 boot into MS-DOS 7.0
REM before Windows loads and access the CD-ROM. All you have to do
REM is press F8 and then run DOSSTART to load MSCDEX and your real
REM mode mouse driver (no need to remember the command line parameters
REM for these two files.
REM
REM - You MUST explicitly specify the CD ROM Drive Letter for MSCDEX.
REM - The string following the /D: statement must explicitly match
REM the string in CONFIG.SYS following your CD-ROM device driver.

OK, with only HJT running have it fix:

O4 - Startup: CompuServe 2000 Tray Icon.lnk = C:\CompuServe 2000\cstray.exe

Reboot when done and let me know how it is now.
Aah, my savior, You've fixed it. BUT before I'm done, I have a few more questions and then i will be out of your hair for good! 1. When I turn on my computer is opens a window that has a dos prompt? And there is some little window that I have to close, but doesn't seem to affect anything else? Should I worry or try to fix that? 2. How do I prevent these problems from occuring in the future? A. Who would be a good browser to use? B. Is there some sort of system to install like a firewall? that sort of thing? C. What settings should I set my browser to so I can still get onto the internet sites I need to with the most security? Thank You Thank You Thank You Thank You Thank You Thank You Thank You I can't thank you enough! G&G :D :P  :D :P
You're welcome - glad to help :D

1. Could you give me more information about it - is it assocaited with an application?

2. Follow the recommendations here: So how did I get infected in the first place?
Thanks! Ok, here is what it is. Two windows pop up when I turn on the computer. One on top of the other. The larger of the two windows is the one that looks like it has a dos prompt(the back ground is black and has a funny type) and says at the top header "SETDEBUG" the smaller window looks like a normal windows type of popup, it's header says "ActiveX Debugging for Java" then below that it says Usage: -d disable -e enable -p(path) Append(path) to the Java source path -r (path) Remoe (path) from the Java source path underneath that it says ok. When I click ok, the whole thing goes away and my computer runs? It's kind of strange? I appreciate your input. Thank you so much for everything! G&G
You're welcome - glad to help :D
