I scan my PC from time to time with some trials, last time with pestpatrol which resulted in the "Trojanspy.Win32.Briss" .I could not find it manually, is this just to get money as Pestpatrol can deletet it or is this a real scan ??? Thanks Gio
Greetings and welcome to TomCoyote.org!

Important: Create a folder on the C: drive called C:\HJT.
You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e) then double click on C: then right click and select New then Folder and name it HJT.
Download HijackThis into this folder.

If required a tutorial is here = Hijackthis Folder Tutorial

Links to Hijack This! v 1.98.2:

http://tools.radiosplace.com/HijackThis.exe
http://spywarewarrior.com/files/HijackThis.exe
http://tomcoyote.org/hjt/HijackThis.exe

Run it from that folder.

Click "Scan".

DO NOT "FIX" ANYTHING WITH IT YET!!!
FIXING THE WRONG THING COULD RENDER YOUR SYSTEM INOPERABLE!!!

Click "Save log".

Reply to this thread, and "copy/paste" the ENTIRE CONTENTS of the log file into this thread.

If you could also supply the name of the infected file, that would help as well.
:)
Thanks for your exact explanation , here is the log :

I'm still not seeing anything majorly wrong in the log.

Is your software kind enough to give you the name of the infected file, so you can pass it along to me?

If you want, you can try some free online removal tools:

Trend-Micro Housecall

Panda Activescan

Etrust Security Advisor

Choose "fix" or "clean".

Let them remove any infections found. Reboot after each scan.
Thanks so much for your reply, you have been very helpful and fast with your replies. However I did the scan and I already have Norton. I pretty much believe that this is business related as I could not find anythinh wrong with the log. To be sure I will run some trojan scanners, thanks again and bytheway you have a very interesting website!! Gio :D
I have done all the necessary scanners and it's sad to know that "pestpatrol" has given me a false report .However thanks again and have a great day! Gio
