hello- having trouble accessing my email inbox. i will automatically get signed into hotmail which is good, but when the small box popping up by my toolbox icon informs me "you have 3 unread emails," i click on that (which usually directs me to my hotmail inbox), and get prompted for my password again. so after putting in my password, the screen just refreshes, prompting me for it again- to no end. i am able to access hotmail from any other pc (friends, at work, etc...). currently on my system i have: cw-shredder, spysweeper, spybot, ad-aware, and HT. don't know if any of these are messing with my sign-in? anyone ever run into this prob? any suggestions GREATLY appreciated... thanks in advance, matt.

Yes I've had this problem, and so have many other Hotmail users. There is too much traffic. Leave the blank screen on and surf in a new bowser. After a few minutes (usually a few seconds), go back to the passport entry and press the refresh button on your browser. Failing that, click on a bookmarked Hotmail again at the passport entry.

Do you use Proxomitron?
You may have to set up some rules if you do.
Set the Proxomitron on Bypass, and you should get to the page.
Once there, copy the URL, and add it to the "Bypass" mode.
Now you can keep Proxomitron on while you are there.
You will have to repeat this process for the "New Message" page.

No, none of those would interfere in Hotmail's usage. Not even Spyware Blaster. Zone Alarm and similar firewalls are the only things that could do that. If you are on a network or Intranet, disable the firewalls while you make some rules, the same goes for proxy software and services on a network. If in IE 4x and up, look under Tools/Internet Options and click the Conections tab to see if you are on a proxy.

Maybe you need cookies enabled? Also, you could try putting hotmail in your Safe Zone (temporariliy only, I wouldn't leave it there).

Are you using an email client? If so which one?

This doesn't sound like your problem: http://support.micro...kb;en-us;244625
