Forgive me for being a bit naïve and a little skittish, but i need help! (baby steps, please)
After being notified that my computer was infected with spyware, i prompltly went to Windows to update my sorely out-of-date computer and downloaded Ad Aware and Spyware Doctor. I know it's a sin, but I do not have antivirus protection and was already targeted by a trojan virus, that i believe is gone at the expense of some program(s) not running now.
My homepage and email are stolen by this so-called hijacker t.swapx.cc…..
what next?! :(

Click here to download CWShredder by Merijn Bellekom and run it, hit 'fix' as opposed to 'scan only'. Reboot when done.

Click here to download Spybot Search & Destroy - install, update, scan and fix all RED items it finds. Reboot when done.

Go here and run online scans (all), allow them to delete whatever they find:

TrendMicro HouseCall
eTrust AntiVirus Web Scanner
Panda ActiveScan
Bitdefender
Command on Demand

Reboot when done. Rescan with HJT and post a new log here so that any remnants can be removed manually.
Thank you Daemon for your quick reply, but I became less optimistic when my computer crashed and gave up the ghost before I could receive the proper help. I decided to reformat my hard drive and am in the process of updating all that is necessary. I am not having any problems (yet,) but should I still download and run all the programs you suggested just to be safe? And should I re-install AdAware and SpyDoctor (or is Spybot a better program?) to prevent this from happening again in the future? Thanks again!
Install AAW and Spybot. To help keep you clean follow the recommendations in Tony's article here:

So how did I get infected in the first place?
