Does anyone have an opinion on a free pop-up blocker? I have Mcafee Privacy purchased and ready to install, however I am wondering if there is a free one is just as good or better?

I use Popup Stopper Free, and like it tremendously.

The only minor "quirk" is that sometimes it blocks some things I want to "pop-up".

If it does that, all you have to do is hold the <Ctrl> key down, then click, and it allows it to pop-up. :)
Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
