What is your Current View setting under View in the toolbar?

Thanks for the response.  Current View = Messages.  Other settings = No grid lines, Show items in groups, Always show single-line layout.

Sorry.  I still cannot recreate.

 

It's must be some setting.  Can you try clicking reset current view?  You would then have to add back in your custom settings of no grid lines and show single line layout.

I'm still curious as to what the setting was... but it is more important that you got things back to what you wanted.
