Haven't been on your site for a long time - so don't know your views on Android Boxes.
If your cool with this, could someone please advise why my A95X Pro has suddenly stopped reading the USB drive. Was initially working fine, now, through ES File Explorer I'm being advised that there are no files to read.
The Android Box is less than a year old, and the flash drive only a few months.
no experience with a95x and android so no real idea on how to diagnose your usb problems, but the simplest thing i'd try is to unplug it from power source and hold the power button in for 5 seconds and then reconnect power and see if the usb now works.
ok, next thing i'd try is to copy the files off the usb onto your pc, reformat the drive copy the files back onto it and see if they are then seen on the a95x.
if still not seen is there a second file explorer on the a95x you can check with? don't think es file explorer is the default android file manager so try that one.
not sure if this applies to your situation but might do :- https://www.howtogeek.com/231401/how-to-use-android-6.0%E2%80%99s-built-in-file-manager/
I re-formatted the usb and copied different formatted files to it before loading on the a95x - made no difference.
Checked the default file manager (folders called FilesBrowser and Files?), neither could see the usb - let alone any files.
Installed and uninstalled various other file managers - only "An File Explorer" highlighted the Toshiba usb (but it was to cost me to go any further - I declined).
Strange thing is that after all that, under Settings, in the Storage and Reset folder of the a95x, it was highlighted that the "usb has now been ejected" ???
Thought I could remove and re-load and all would be well - didn't happen <_< .
Guessing again, but the fact that the box originally recognised the usb, then didn't - then highlighted that it had been ejected would suggest that the fault lies with the box?
sorry but can't think of anything else to try because i've no experience using android os but last thing i'd try is seeing if there are any updates for the os, maybe an update caused the problem and a new update will fix it.
My box started doing the same - I'd plug it into my laptop to dump movies across, then it wouldn't recognise it 1 in 10 times, then it became 1 in 2, then I had to plug it in and out 5 times and it would work (over the course of a few weeks daily use).
Eventually stopped working at all, though I knew it had to be something to do with the usb drive as it still recongised my thumb drive, and my radio mouse.
So, make sure whatever file explorer you is set not to run automatically. I was also using ES File Explorer, and I cleared the preferences under APPS / ES File Explorer / Clear defaults
Reset the box with the drive out.
When it reboots, go to SETTINGS / STORAGE & RESET
Plug the drive in. Sometimes after 3-4 seconds it should show up the name of your drive.
THEN go to the home page and run your file explorer
After unplugging and resetting my box 40 times in a night to make it find the drive, this has now worked every time 15 times in a row.
Hopefully you can skip the reboot. I may report back
