Whereas it is not recommended to have 2 real-time antivirus programs running at the same time, Malwarebytes Premium is an exception. You can run both and there is no conflict.

That said, you can look here for extra information regarding Avast.

I'm sorry that no Windows experts have replied and this is not my forte but getting back to the lasr suggestion of unintalling Avast, can you try it in Safe Mode.

Please ignore the above suggestion as uninstalling Avast probably won't make a difference.

Did you perform an upgrade from Windows 7/8? If you did, this seems to be a known problem with UAC.

Please let me know.

I have done alot of research on this matter and it seems that the browser microsoft edge has alot of problems.  It suggests un installing and reinstalling the browser.  but  will that fix the file system error…i dont know that

Hmm I thought I did answer this   but i do not see it.  No ,  this is a fairly new computer, about six months old and came with windows 10 installed on it.

I've already stated that I'm not qualified in any things regarding Windows but I have seen a site with that has people with the same problem and offers possible solutions.

I can’t offer a guarantee or suggest that you follow those possible solutions but they appear to be without risk and may supply a result. The person seems well-informed and has legitimate suggestions. The site is here and he suggests you try the following:

“Try the following 3 solutions:

1.  Do the UAC.reg file fix posted on page 1.
2.  Do my long fix posted on page 3.
3.  Do the sound fixes posted on page 3/4.

This should cover most, if not all, of the issues people are reporting”.

That was his quote, not mine.

Please let me know how you get on.

well  i was going along good until i tried to click on the reg file to run it.  then i get the file system error for that too. think i will be taking the computer up to best buy  since it is all in warranty still and letting them either fix it or wipe it.   sorry to bother you,  and thanks for  the help

That seems like a good idea. I'll close this now and hope all turns out well for you.
