I am having trouble with microsoft edge especially. When I go to open the browser, it says the page wont load and to retry. It continues to do this after every try. I thought this was a malware problem, so I went to that forum first.
They sent me here. When i download a file, and try to open it I get windows error message file system error (-1073741795
After I resrtarted, Avast said it did not load the UI properly, and I got that same error message.
When I am on a site, and begin to scroll , the page disappears. If I click on the Start button, as soon as it comes up and I go to click on a program, it closes.
I can use Firefox ok, games seem to run ok

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.
To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:
In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.
In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.
Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.
That is good news at least, problems such as this can sometimes be as a result of Windows being out of date.
Do the following for us, test then post back with an update.
Select Start , and in the search box, enter Command Prompt. Press and hold (or right-click) Command Prompt (Desktop app) from the search results and select Run as administrator.
1: Enter DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth (note the spaces before each "/").
2: Enter sfc /scannow (note the space between "sfc" and "/").
You mention that you have Avast installed, when you post back can you tell us if you have any other security software installed as well.
But is Malwarebytes the paid for version of Premium or the free 14 day trial version, it is important that we know as you should not have two AV programs on a computer at the same time, the 14 day trial version of Premium reverts back to an on demand scanner if not upgraded after 14 days meaning that it would no longer offer real time AV protection and should therefore not cause conflicts with Avast.
Good that Avast and Windows are both up to date.
Is there anything on the hard drive that you need to back up, trying a refresh of Windows is looking like your best option, this keeps your personal files and settings but removes any apps + backing up important data is always advised as a precaution.
Having more than one AV installed on your computer is bad, it will slow down the computer, cause conflicts and internet connection problems + leave you with no AV protection at all if they cancel each other out as they fight for resources.
I am confused I thought Malwarebytes removed malware, but not viruses? Please explain, so if I have the premium I do not need any further virus protection.
? please explain. Also, I cannot run the avast removal tool because I get the same file system error message as stated above
